Water Misters for Air Conditioners

Each year we receive inquires from people regarding water misters for air conditioners. Research has shown that by keeping your air conditioning coils cool, it allows your air conditioning unit to run much more efficiently. This in turn lowers your electricity bill because the air conditioning unit doesn't have to work as hard. Studies have shown that you can save up to 30% off your energy bill by having a water mister spray a fine mist of water onto the cooling coils of your air conditioner.

While we do not have any specific products designed for keeping air conditioner coils cool, customers have reported to us that our permanently mounted water misters work great for keeping commercial and residential air conditioner coils cool. All you have to do is mount the mister so that it sprays a fine mist onto the coils of your air conditioning unit. Some people have even put the mister on an automatic timer to kick on and off at the hottest times of the day. These timers can be found in the garden hose isle of any hardware store for about $30. For some commercial air conditioning units that are large in size, you may prefer to install a Low Pressure PVC Misting System around the unit for better results.

Please be aware that we do not make any guarantees as to how much money you can save by keeping your air conditioning coils cool. Aqua Misters has NOT done any research or testing to prove how much money you can save on your energy bill. There have been various tests done on this subject and they can be found online by doing a simple search. We are just passing along the information that we have heard from customers who have purchased water misters or misting systems for this application.

New Video of our Portable Low Pressure Water Mister

Below is a link to a new video of our redesigned portable low pressure water mister. The portable low pressure water mister in the video has 7 misting nozzles and a silver stand. An optional inline filter is also installed on the water mister.

On a day with a light breeze, the mist will travel a good 30 to 40 feet away from the mister. This video was shot in 92ºF heat with 85% humidity. The mister made a HUGE difference and made the surrounding air feel much cooler!

New Lower Prices on Brass Misting Nozzles

We are pleased to announce we have lowered the price on our brass misting nozzles. The brass misting nozzles are now available for $12 each. The brass misting nozzles are bested suited for high pressure water misters and misting systems since they have a tendency to drip with low water pressure (less than 100psi). The brass misting nozzles on our website flow .63gph@40psi, 1.00gph@100psi, or 2.24gph@500psi.

Higher flow rate brass misting nozzles are available for applications other than mist cooling. We can get brass misting nozzles that flow up to 15gph@100psi. Stainless steel misting nozzles are also available as a special order.

Our plastic misting nozzles are best suited for low pressure water misters and misting systems since they will not drip at low water pressures. We recently added a pack of 25 plastic misting nozzles to our website to help you save more on our plastic misting nozzles.

Greenhouse Misting Systems Now Available

Ever since we introduced our perimeter misting systems, we have been having lots of requests to ship them with higher flow rate misting nozzles so that they can be used in greenhouses to water plants. The greenhouse misting systems are the same as our perimeter misting systems; they just have higher flow rate misting nozzles.

Included with the greenhouse misting kits is our 1.90gph@40PSI, 3.00gph@100PSI misting nozzle. These misting nozzles are perfect for watering plants because they conserve water and do not over water the plants.

Misting Fans Now Available

For quite some time now we have had numerous requests for outdoor misting fans. We have put a lot of time and effort into creating the highest quality misting fans for you. Our misting fans are built from only approved UL listed outdoor fans. These fans feature fully sealed motors to keep moisture out and to make sure the fan can withstand the outdoor elements without getting damaged. For your convenience, we have both pedestal mounted and wall mounted misting fans available for purchase.

Most misting fans available today have misting rings that are built from a cheap grade of plastic tubing. This plastic tubing doesn't last long, especially when exposed to the suns UV rays. Our misting fans feature a modified version of our permanently mounted low pressure misters that attach to the blade guard on the fan. The permanently mounted misters are made from all metal to ensure they last a lifetime. And don't forget, all of our misting nozzle feature built in mesh screen filters on each nozzle to prevent clogging.

Misting fans combine the cooling power of a fan and water mister. The results are cooling effects of a high pressure misting system that can cost several thousands of dollars. A misting fan can cool an area down by as much as 30ºF! Even if you do not feel like running the water mister with the fan, you can always just use the fan to cool down your patio.

New Perimeter Misting Systems

Due to the number of requests we have been getting for perimeter misting systems, we decided to make them a stock item rather than a special order item. In case you are not familiar, perimeter misting systems are the most common type of misting system that you see. They line the entire length of a porch or patio with misting nozzles. Perimeter misting systems are often seen on both residential and commercial patios.

The perimeter misting system kits available in 10', 25', and 50' lengths. The kits can be conjoined together to make longer lengths. We also offer all kinds of hard to find PVC fittings, including misting tees, if you wish to build your own perimeter misting system out of 1/2" schedule 40 PVC.

At this time we only have plans to sell low pressure perimeter misting systems, but if we get enough requests we may begin to offer high pressure perimeter misting systems.

Previously we used the SnowStorm Snowmaking blog to keep everyone informed, but we have decided that it would be better to create a separate blog just for Aqua Misters.
